Workshop 2 – 'Meet the Policy Makers'

On November 18th, 2023, the second workshop in the Wired Youth: Science Forum project was held at the Valletta Design Cluster. Titled "Meet the Policy Makers," this workshop ran from 9 am to 1 pm and provided participants with a unique opportunity to familiarise themselves with the concept of evidence-based policy making.

The workshop featured interactions with Dr. Dylan Seychell, a researcher from the Faculty of ICT at the University of Malta, and Dr. Jennifer Cassingena Harper, a policy consultant for the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST). These experts shared their insights on the policymaking process, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based policy and the integration of scientific knowledge.

Following this workshop, the young participants gained valuable knowledge on how policies are crafted and the critical role that science plays in shaping effective and informed decisions.
